OU vs Missouri game recap: Defense leads the way in over the Tigers

No. 8 OU improved to 9-2 on the season on Saturday, beating No. 22 Missouri 17-6.
The Sooners and Tigers struggled to move the ball most of the day. It was a defensive battle, as OU held Missouri to just 301 total yards on the day. Oklahoma wasn’t better, totaling only 276 yards.
Here’s how it all went down.
The moment: Isaiah Sategna’s 87-yard touchdown. After Missouri opted to kick a field goal on fourth and short and the Sooners blocked it, OU scored three plays later on a John Mateer pass to Sategna. This opened up the scoring for Oklahoma, which then scored on its next possession as well to take a commanding lead.
MVP: The entire defense. There are too many players on the defensive side of the ball to choose just one. Linebacker Owen Heinecke led the team in tackles with nine and had a big tackle for loss. OU also had four sacks on the day, with Gracen Halton, Taylor Wein, Damonic Williams and PJ Adebawore all contributing. Jacobe Johnson and Eli Bowen had the only turnovers of the day with two interceptions.
