Below is the quick game recap.
OU vs. South Carolina game recap
- Defining moment: Isaiah Sategna’s fumble. The OU wide receiver had a crucial fumble in the fourth quarter on a big punt return. The Sooners would have had the ball at the 50 down just 31-25 with six minutes to play. Ole Miss scored a field goal on its ensuing possession.
- MVP: Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss. He was incredible for the Rebels. He was 24 of 44 for 315 yards and one touchdown through the air. But it was his legs that were the difference. He ran for 53 yards, which mostly came on scrambles.
- Stat to know: 315 passing yards. That was the total for Ole Miss on Saturday and that’s the most this Oklahoma defense has given up this season. Many of those yards came on chunk plays
- Injuries: OU linebacker Kobie McKinzie left the game in the first quarter with a leg injury and never returned for the Sooners. Other than that, Oklahoma did not suffer any serious injuries.
- Up Next: OU will go on the road to Knoxville, Tennessee, to face the Volunteers in another top 25 matchup.
