The Sooners were also able to move the ball consistently throughout the game. OU finished the day with 320 total yards, including 172 on the ground.

Below is the quick game recap.

OU vs. South Carolina game recap

  • Defining moment: The opening drive of the game. Oklahoma set the tone early. It went on a 10-play, 75-yard drive, which was capped by an 18-yard touchdown run by Blaylock. The Sooners ran for 50 yards on the drive, which is 10 more than what they totaled in the entire game against Texas last week.
  • MVP: RB Tory Blaylock. Blaylock was a machine on the ground for the Sooners. The true freshman totaled 101 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries. That’s the most rushing yards by an OU running back this season. Sophomore Xavier Robinson also had a nice day, totaling 58 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries.
  • Stat to know: The stat to know is that DE Taylor Wein is awesome. Wein was arguably Oklahoma’s best defensive player on Saturday. He totaled four tackles, two tackles for loss and one interception. He helped the defense create a lot of pressure, as OU totaled six sacks and 13 tackles for loss.
  • Injuries: Cornerback Gentry Williams injured his shoulder during the first quarter of the game and did not return. Williams was wearing a sling on the sideline during the second half. South Carolina star defensive Dylan Stewart also got hurt during the first quarter and did not return.
  • Up Next: OU will return home on Saturday, Oct. 25, to face No. 5 Ole Miss. The game will kick off at 11 a.m. on ABC. The Sooners will look to earn their third top-25 win of the season and their first top-five win since 2023.
