OU women's basketball wins third in a row, beats Missouri

The OU women’s basketball team won its third game in a row on Sunday.
No. 15 Oklahoma beat Missouri 82-66 on the road, improving its record to 19-6 and 7-5 in SEC. The Sooners now rank seventh in conference standings, just behind Ole Miss who they beat last week.
On Sunday, Payton Verhulst led the way for OU. She scored a team-high 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting. Raegan Beers returned to the starting lineup, scoring six points and grabbing seven rebounds. Skylar Vann added 14 points, Lexy Keys 13, Zya Vann 11 and Sahara Williams 10.
Oklahoma had one of its most efficient games of the season, turning the ball over only 15 times. That’s eight less than its season average. The Sooners also out-rebounded Missouri 36-23 and shot 89% from the free throw line compared to Missouri’s 53%. OU led by as many as 20 in the fourth quarter despite trailing by four at halftime.

The Sooners also received good news from the NCAA Tournament selection committee on Sunday. They ranked 15th in the NCAA’s first top 16 reveal of the season. That means OU will host a regional in Norman for the first two rounds of the tournament in March.
OU will look to extend its winning streak on Thursday against Vanderbilt. The Sooners and Commodores will tip off at 6 p.m. at the Lloyd Noble Center. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network-plus.
