After a 10-2 season for OU, 10 Sooners earned All-SEC honors, it was announced on Tuesday.

Three players made the first team: defensive end R Mason Thomas, kicker Tate Sandell and punter Grayson Miller. Five players made second team: wide receiver Isaiah Sategna, offensive lineman Febechi Nwaiwu, defensive end Taylor Wein, safety Peyton Bowen and longsnapper Ben Anderson. And two made third team: cornerback Eli Bowen and tight end Jaren Kanak.

OU had the second-most selections in the conference behind only Georgia, which had 11. It also had the second-most first-team selections with three, trailing only Missouri with four. This is a huge difference from last season The Sooners had only four total selections in 2024: linebacker Danny Stutsman, safety Billy Bowman Jr., Thomas and Anderson.

For Thomas, this is the second consecutive year he’s been honored. He made second team last season. Considered one of the best defensive ends in the country, Thomas has totaled 6.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss. He missed the final three games of the season after injuring his quad while returning a fumble 71 yards for a touchdown against Tennessee.

Sandell has been one of the best kickers in the country. A Lou Groza finalist, he is currently 23 of 24 on field goal this season, making a school record 23 in a row. He’s an impressive 7 of 7 from 50-plus.

And Miller, Oklahoma’s third first-team selection, has been a weapon at punter. He leads the SEC by averaging 46.2 yards per punt. He also has had 24 punts downed inside the 20-yard line with only six touchbacks.

These selections shouldn’t come as a surprise, as OU has been one of the best teams in the country this season. The Sooners are set to face Alabama in the first round of the College Football Playoff in Norman on Dec. 19.
