Classes are out at OU, so it’s officially that season again. Time for softball, time for baseball. And? Absolutely time for recruiting.

This is when OU has been able to make a lot of headway under head coach Brent Venables. See the recruits in April and May. Bring them to campus in June and get them to commit in June and July.

That’s how the game works nowadays. But Niko Jandreau skipped a step or two. Instead, he committed while safeties coach Brandon Hall was visiting him.

A little shot in the arm for OU’s recruiting efforts. As top teams have been landing elite guys day after day, now OU is back on the board.

Time to break it all down with this week’s Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop. It might just take one to get the whole recruiting ball rolling for Venables and company.

Murdock summary:

Recruiting is officially heating up after Oklahoma football picked up a commitment from Niko Jandreau, a safety from Chandler, Arizona. It’s an exciting pickup because he also has another brother who is also highly regarded. Josh McCuistion is here to breakdown the latest on the recruiting trail as he and Carey are getting ready to go see Bowe Bentley this week. Big visits are also being lined up for summer camp.

We also examine the OU offense and get into how we see this offensive line developing early in the 2025 season. And somehow, we go down the rabbit hole of how awful last season’s offense was. It’s the offseason. Officially. George will also be living in Destin, Florida, the rest of this month for weddings and SEC meetings. And we won’t have to listen to his panic in the office over the Thunder, who are doing just fine after a big win over Denver last night.

All that and all the banter you’ve come to expect from the Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop.
