Just like that, the OU spring sports wrapped up. Not a disappointment in the traditional sense, just strange how softball and baseball ended within hours of each other.

So that now becomes portal season for both sports there. But if it’s June, that means we turn the page back to Brent Venables and company.

That means it’s time to go camping in Norman. And time to start bringing elite recruits to campus for official visits.

This weekend will mark the initial big visit weekend for the Sooners. And maybe OU will get some clarity at the quarterback position.

Who is coming to town? Who might be on commitment watch? Get ready for a busy, busy month in that regard for Venables and company.

Time to talk about it all. Let’s break it down in this week’s edition of the Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop.

Murdock summary:

It’s almost impossible to believe. The OU softball season and baseball season have come to an end. Really within hours of each other. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a productive year for the softball team and this team took an entirely new roster back to the WCWS and was just a run away from being back in the championship series. Baseball might have had some more issues. And they didn’t make it past the regional round. We discuss what’s next for both. We’re fired up for the Thunder being in the NBA Finals, so forgive us a little Finals matchup talk. And Josh is heading back to Oklahoma for another big summer camp tomorrow. Oh yeah, Bowe Bentley is visiting this weekend as well and then we have another huge week of summer camps after that one.

All that and all the banter you’ve come to expect from SoonerScoop and the Unofficial 40 podcast.
