The first day of the early signing period has come and gone, and OU had absolutely zero fireworks. And, yep, that’s OK.

A by-the-numbers day for head coach Brent Venables, general manager Jim Nagy and everybody else who worked to make Wednesday happen down in Norman.

OU signs a class of 24 guys. No last-minute addition, defections. Heck, if you pay attention, then you know this last week has been full of enough comings and goings. It made Wednesday more of a day of celebration than any sort of anxiety.

This is the group that picked OU when it wasn’t cool. It’s trending to be the cool thing to do once again after the way Team 131 turned everything around.

A foundation on the offense, leaders on the defense. There should be some pieces here that OU fans will remember for the years to come.
