SoonerScoop podcast: Tick tock, tick tock on OU defensive coordinator

Another week in the books, and we’re still wondering about the OU defensive coordinator. Another week, and there doesn’t seem to be an ounce of panic from OU about it, either.
Head coach Brent Venables hasn’t made any drastic moves yet. The boys are all back as classes began in Norman on Monday.
We’re officially transitioning from tracking the transfer portal 24 hours a day to now starting to really zero-in on what the 2025 Sooners are going to look like.
Oh, and Jaren Kanak? Sounds like he’s making a position change. A change that some OU fans have been asking to happen for quite a while.

It’s time. Buckle up, strap in as it’s time for the Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop. Time to talk about the week that was in OU athletics and what’s to come.
Like the future of NIL and where OU stands in that department. Every week brings about something new. Perhaps the end of the college football playoff will do that as well. Perhaps?
Murdock summary
The gang is back as we’ve seen plenty of reaction to us naming Jim Knowles as a potential candidate for the open defensive coordinator job. And we’re here for everyone’s doubts. We think it’s crazy too. Josh gives his thoughts on the Navy All-American game and Ryan Fodje’s day at center. We’re also looking at OU’s two-deep and we keep getting positive vibes about the future of the offensive line. How has OU done in the portal since it started? George has some kind of depressing numbers to share. And we also talk about the possibilities of Jaren Kanak as an offensive player. And of course our thoughts on the national championship game and the coaching carousel.
All that and all the banter you’ve come to expect from the Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop.
