And the OU fans were able to breathe a sigh of relief, for at least another week. Questions galore coming in and that might have been the most dominant OU performance in quite some time.

The Sooners were in control early and never looked back en route to a 26-7 victory at South Carolina on Saturday afternoon.

This one was all about the running game. Freshman Tory Blaylock, with more chances, showed why he deserves those chances. A 101-yard performance and an early touchdown set the tone for a strong outing across the board.

OU won the most winnable game on its schedule. Now it’s about to get real interesting real fast. Ole Miss comes to Norman next Saturday in a massive showdown.

But let’s reflect back on Columbia. It’s time for the Eskridge Lexus Postgame Podcast from SoonerScoop, talking about it all as OU is already bowl eligible.

Murdock summary:

Oklahoma’s 26-7 win over South Carolina was another big step for Brent Venables and the offense after last week’s disjointed loss to Texas. The offensive line looked like a real unit for the first time all season against an SEC opponent. Tory Blaylock ran for 100 yards and this time it wasn’t Temple. Could this bet the start of something big for Bill Bedenbaugh and the offensive line? It wasn’t always pretty. The punting was rough in the first half. The referees weren’t a treat to watch either. But the Sooners came out of the halftime locker room swinging and had this game all but over with starting the fourth quarter. The defense looked like a unit ready to reclaim their status as one of the top units in the country. It’s the Eskridge Lexus Postgame podcast with Carey, Eddie and George.

All that and all the banter you’ve come to expect from the Eskridge Lexus Postgame Podcast from SoonerScoop.
