The stage was set for OU to make a statement in front of the college football world. This time around? The Sooners delivered.

OU was simply the better team for most of the 60 minutes Saturday. And head coach Brent Venables doesn’t have to look over his shoulder for at least a few more weeks.

OU was dominant in a 24-13 victory against visiting Michigan that easily could have been a lot bigger margin if not for OU miscues.

This was the type of evening OU fans needed. The type of night Venables had to have, and you could tell how fired up the players were to deliver for their head coach.

It wasn’t all perfect, but hey, that’s for another day. For now? Sooner fans are allowed to get excited because 2025 is a whole lot different.

As always, let’s break it all down. It’s time for the Eskridge Lexus Postgame Podcast from SoonerScoop.

It was a wild week in Norman, and Saturday was phenomenal. Before the game, during the game, time to celebrate a big one for the Sooners.

Murdock summary:

Oklahoma defeats Michigan 24-13 in front of a nationally televised audience and they make a statement to the rest of college football. The Sooners are a team to be respected on both sides of the ball and John Mateer used his arm and his legs to put together a performance worthy of a Heisman Trophy candidate. The OU defense pummeled Michigan’s physical offense throughout the day. And even though some special teams miscues took away from the overall performance of the win, this is an OU team that looks like it can turn around and start competing at a level OU fans expect. Carey, Eddie and George break it all down on the Eskridge Lexus Postgame Podcast

All that and all the banter you’ve come to expect from the Eskridge Lexus Postgame Podcast from SoonerScoop.
