Make this a weekly occurrence for OU. For the second consecutive week, a trio of Sooners have been honored by the Southeastern Conference for their roles in Oklahoma’s 17-6 victory over Missouri.

Redshirt sophomore defensive end Taylor Wein was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week. Senior defensive lineman Gracen Halton was named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week. And redshirt junior punter Grayson Miller was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Wein recorded a career-high four tackles, two tackles for loss, a career-high 1.5 sacks and a QB hurry. In what has been a breakout season, Wein has produced four games with four tackles and two tackles for loss. In five games, he has recorded one sack. He has six sacks, ranking fourth in the SEC with his team-leading 14 tackles for loss this season.

Halton’s impact has been felt in every game this season. And Saturday was no different, tying his career-high with seven tackles, two tackles for loss, half a sack and a QB hurry. His seven tackles were the most by an OU defensive tackle this season. The senior interior defensive lineman now has 3.5 sacks, 6 tackles for loss and four QB hurries this season.

Miller averaged 44.9 yards on nine punts, with five of 50-plus yards (50, 51, 53, 57, and 51 yards) and four downed inside the 20-yard line. His five punts of 50-plus yards tied for the second most in a game in school history, one shy of the school record. The Deer Creek graduate ranks ninth nationally with his 46.6 punting average.

OU players have now claimed 14 SEC weekly awards this season. The Sooners will be back in action on Saturday against LSU in Norman. If Oklahoma can win, it will likely clinch a spot in the College Football Playoff.
