Will John Mateer play against Texas? Brent Venables provides zero clarity

Brent Venables had no interest in answering the John Mateer questions on Tuesday. The OU head coach mostly shot down any questions regarding his starting quarterback during his weekly press conference. Mateer's availability for Saturday's game against Texas is the biggest storyline this week, after he broke his hand in the first quarter of the Auburn game and had surgery four days later. He didn't play this past Saturday against Kent State, with Michael Hawkins Jr. getting the start.
