Caden Durham injury update: Brian Kelly says LSU RB to be listed as questionable for Ole Miss game

As Ole Miss prepares for LSU on Saturday, the Tigers have a question surrounding their starting running back, Caden Durham. On Wednesday, head coach Brian Kelly said he is questionable for the game.
On Monday, Kelly said it was “better than we first thought” after the LSU back went down with an ankle injury vs. Southeastern Louisiana.
“I think we’re going to list him as questionable today,” Kelly said. “We’ll see how he progresses through practice each every day. He could go from questionable to out or questionable to probable, depending how he moves through the remainder of practice. We won’t make those assessments until we see the full body of work through practice.”
At his Monday press conference, Kelly said that he does expect Durham to play. Players like Ju’Juan Johnson and Kaleb Jackson are among those that’ll carry some of the weight, especially if Durham is out.
I think Caden will be in the mix, provided he’s healthy, and early indications are that he’s going to be able to play. We’ll see how it goes during the week. I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself, but we got a good report on him yesterday. And then this morning, when we moved them around, it was positive. So you’ll have both those guys, and I thought Kaleb Jackson probably had his best game of the year in terms of seeing things, hitting them, playing physical, catching the ball out of the backfield. He was outstanding on the times that we had some two-back runs in there, leading as well.

“So I still think we have those three, and then we keep bringing Harlem along as he continues to grow within the offense. So, I don’t think we go into the game shorthanded in any respect.”
This season, Durham has 52 carries for 213 yards and two touchdowns for LSU.
When Ole Miss and LSU face off in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday, the Rebels will also face a completely different offensive line from last year’s group in Tiger Stadium.
“Yeah, I think Brian said four of them went to the NFL. So, those guys did a great job protecting them a year ago. But you look at them again, they’re big and really good players,” Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin said Monday. “I mean, like I said, they’ve done a great job. I mean, we walk by the TV copy that plays out here and they show the offensive huddle, playing Florida. And it looks like an NFL huddle of guys. And so they’ve done a really good job. And very typical of LSU teams.”
