Ole Miss offers North Texas wide receiver Ja'Mori Maclin

North Texas transfer wide receiver Ja’Mori Maclin received an offer from Ole Miss Thursday.
As a freshman in 2022, Maclin was one of the go-to guys for the Mean Green, landing on C-USA’s All-Freshman Team. Before this breakout season, he spent two seasons at Missouri. He played three games in 2020 and missed the 2021 season with an injury. But in 2022, he had 16 receptions for 380 yards and two touchdowns.
But, in 2023, as North Texas transitioned to the AAC, he had 57 receptions for 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns. He averaged 17.6 yards per reception and was one of the most explosive players in the country.
Ole Miss could be looking to replace a few wide receivers in 2024.
“Wide receivers Jordan Watkins and Dayton Wade will need pay bumps for to put off the NFL Draft another year,” Garrett said. “Tre Harris, too, but the Louisiana Tech transfer, who dazzled in his only Ole Miss season, has top-three-round upside and likely leaving regardless.”

Ja’Mori Maclin played high school football at Kirkwood (IL), where he was an unranked recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Ja’Mori Maclin was named to the Biletnikoff Award semifinalist watchlist earlier this year.
Maclin would be an excellent compliment to a wide receiver room which could return all three receivers who had over 700 yards receiving this season. But, even if Ole Miss loses one or two of Harris, Wade and/or Watkins, Maclin would be a great addition to the room. He has a skill set which is reminiscent of former Ole Miss Rebel and current Cleveland Browns wide receiver Elijah Moore.
