Ole Miss Football welcomes a pair of commitments back to campus on Friday as official visits begin for the final time in June. The duo in Oxford will get a chance to recruit for Lane Kiffin & Co. this weekend.

Austin (Tex.) Westlake quarterback Rees Wise has been committed to Ole Miss since April after an unofficial visit. He’s stayed locked in with the Rebels and now returns for his official visit with his family ready to recruit.

Joining him is Folsom (Calif.) wide receiver Jameson Powell, who committed to the Rebels in January. Since then, he’s shut down his recruitment and hasn’t wavered following his May unofficial visit.

“I’m shutting it down because on my recent visit, I realized that this is where I want to be,” Powell said. “How they play is the type of football I want to play. I feel like there is no better place for me than Ole Miss. They really made it feel like home when I was there. Ole Miss is the only school I will be taking an official visit to.”

Wise gets another up-close look at the Ole Miss quarterbacks and how they prepare this weekend on his official visit. On his last visit, he spent plenty of time with the quarterbacks.

“I love the staff so much. I love the QB development there,” Wise said. “You have every opportunity there, everything to use, all the stuff. I got to do all the routines with them. I got up at 7 in the morning to be at the facilities at 7:15 to go do 1-on-1s with coach Judge and Austin Simmons. Do a little walk through of practice, go through all that. It’s hard to fail there when you’re a QB.”

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Wise is the No. 30 overall quarterback in the country and No. 71 prospect in Texas. On3 has him even higher, ranking him as the No. 27 signal caller in America.

Powell ranks on the On3 Industry Ranking as the No. 422 overall prospect and No. 65 wide receiver in the nation. He picked the Rebels over Cal, Oregon, Washington and others.
