The re-loading of the Ole Miss softball program is still underway and Sunday saw another addition in the follow up to the first Women’s College World Series appearance.

UConn two-way player Hope Jenkins announced she committed to the Rebels, adding another arm in the circle and potent bat at the plate. Jenkins is the second player to come to Oxford out of the transfer portal in the last eight days.

Jenkins, twin sister to Grace who also entered the portal, is leaving the Huskies after three seasons. She will have one more year of eligibility as a rising senior when she arrives at Ole Miss.

Last season Jenkins appeared in 36 games with 33 starts, finishing with a .269 batting average. She had 22 runs batted in, five home runs and nine doubles off 32 hits. Jenkins also scored 16 runs.

In the circle Jenkins made 30 appearances with an 11-3 record and 3.98 earned run average. She allowed 72 runs – 57 earned – off 102 hits while striking out 74 and walked 51 other batters in 100.1 innings pitched.

All pitching totals were second behind UConn ace Payton Kinney.

Jenkins joins Kentucky transfer Cassie Reasner as the second transfer addition for Ole Miss head coach Jamie Trachsel and her staff. Reasner committed on June 14, providing infield help to replace graduating senior Angelina Deleon.

The Rebels have replaced two of the spots lost via the portal. Five Ole Miss players have entered the portal, which closed on June 16. The biggest loss was pitcher Miali Guachino. The freshman All-American was vital part of the WCWS run.

Ole Miss currently ranks No. 19 in On3’s team transfer rankings. The program set a new high in the final 2025 rankings, finishing as a consensus top-10 team. Softball America ranked them No. 7 and also were No. 8 in NFCA, ESPN/USA Softball and D1Softball polls.
