STAFF AND WIRE | Kevin Graham went 5-for-5, including two home runs and three RBIs, as Ole Miss was victorious against the Missouri Tigers, 10-2, at Swayze Field on Sunday.

Ole Miss, which swept the series, got another solid starting pitching performance in the finale, this time from Derek Diamond, who pitched five scoreless innings to start the game.

“It’s huge. It’s no secret we need to win every single game we can,” Graham said after the win. “Proud of the way we played all weekend. From the beginning we came out there taking it one pitch at a time. Competing and didn’t take many pitches off and that’s the way you got to win.”

Ole Miss is 27-19 overall and 10-14 in the Southeastern Conference. The Rebels are also now in a three-way tie for ninth place in the league with two weekends remaining in the regular season. Missouri fell to 25-20 and 7-17.

Ole Miss baseball entered the weekend tied for 12th in the SEC. The Rebels exited in a tie for ninth.

“Best-case scenario, shoot, you run off a 5-1 stretch over your last six, that puts you at 15-15 (in the SEC),” Ole Miss hitting coach Mike Clement said, during an interview on the Ole Miss Spirit’s Talk of Champions podcast.

“Traditionally, that gets you in. The RPI’s going to take care of itself at that point. You beat two really good teams, five of six. Yeah, that’s an easy two (seed), I think.”
