5-Star EDGE Anthony 'Tank' Jones Sets Commitment Date

2026 5-star Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul’s Episcopal EDGE Anthony ‘Tank’ Jones is finally ready to make his decision.
The 6-foot-3, 245-pounder defender will announce his commitment on Thursday on the Pat McAfee show, according to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. He’ll choose from a top three of Alabama, Oregon and Texas A&M.
Jones is the No. 18 prospect nationally, the No. 5 EDGE and the top-ranked player in the state of Alabama according to the Rivals300 ranking.
Alabama’s top prospect took official visits to each of his finalists last month and spoke with ScoopDuck about what stands out about Oregon.
“It’s far away from home, so I feel like it’ll definitely be a great opportunity for me to grow and just be uncomfortable and just grow in situations,” he said. “I feel like the scheme they got set up for me will be great for me also. Especially seeing like the EDGES they got eating. Coach (Dan) Lanning and coach Tosh Lupoi, they do a great job of just making everything simple and just letting the edges go eat for real. I feel like me going up would be a great fit for me also.”

Jones is Oregon and Kamran Araghi’s top remaining EDGE target in the 2026 class with players like 4-star Prince Tavizon and 3-star Dutch Horisk already in the fold.
The Alabama product could start another string of commitments for the Ducks, who are awaiting decisions from 4-star Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian cornerback Davon Benjamin and 4-star Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill defensive lineman Deuce Geralds on Saturday August 2.
Oregon signed the No. 1 prospect out of Alabama last cycle in 5-star+ plus Birmingham (Ala.) Parker cornerback Na’eem Offord, and the coaching staff would love nothing more than to pull off that feat again in the 2026 cycle with Jones.
