5-Star Safety Jett Washington Reshuffles Official Visit Schedule, Heads to Oregon This Weekend

Add another 5-star recruit to Oregon’s official visit weekend. 2026 Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman safety Jett Washington has reshuffled his official visit schedule and will now be in Eugene to see Dan Lanning and the Ducks, according to On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons.
“My last visit to Oregon was great,” Washington told Simmons. “It is a great program and they are recruiting me as hard as anyone. Coach (Chris) Hampton is a great coach, Coach Lanning has the program going up and I liked it a lot when I was up there.”
Washington is now one of four 5-star recruits (Richard Wesley, Brandon Arrington Jr. and Tyler Atkinson) expected on campus for an official visit this weekend.
The 6-foot-4 1/2, 200-pound defensive back was previously scheduled to take an official visit to Ohio State this weekend with the Buckeyes also in the mix.
Washington has taken one official visit to date, and that was to Alabama last weekend. The coveted safety has offers from all over the country, but the Ducks and the Crimson Tide appear to be the two teams that have gained the most traction in his recruitment.
The Bishop Gorman standout is currently in Los Angeles to see the USC Trojans for an unofficial visit. After that, it’ll be wheels up to Eugene for another return trip.

The Vegas product was at Oregon to see a spring practice back in April and said Oregon “definitely went up” after that visit. What Lanning and his coaching staff have built and continue to elevate is part of what has Oregon in such a good spot.
“Really just their culture,” Washington told ScoopDuck of what excites him most. “Since Dan Lanning’s got there every single year they’ve had more draft picks and just a better record every single year. The fact they’re trending in the right direction.”
With Washington joining Oregon’s group of official visitors, he’ll be one of two top safety targets for Hampton on campus. 4-star Glenside (PA) La Salle College safety Joey O’Brien is also taking his official visit with the Ducks this weekend. He has Oregon in his top four schools along with Notre Dame, Clemson and Penn State.
Washington has not set a commitment date, but has previously mentioned making his decision after completing his official visits.
