Camren Hamiel Names Top Schools, Schedules Oregon Official Visit

4-star Goodyear (Ariz.) Desert Edge cornerback Camren Hamiel is getting some clarity in his recruitment. On Friday, the 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back announced his updated top schools.
Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State, and Texas A&M all made the cut.
The No. 280 prospect in the On300 rankings has scheduled an official visit to Oregon for June 13. He’ll visit Penn State on May 16, Nebraska June 6 before he wraps up his slate with a trip to Texas A&M on June 20. Hamiel took his first official visit to Arizona State this past weekend.
The Grand Canyon State product was in Eugene last month to get a look at the Ducks during spring practice.
“I love coach Lanning’s story and how Oregon looks,” Hamiel told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I was surprised by how it was there, the environment and all of that. It is a great program and I saw that it is a great place when I was there this spring.”

Oregon has recruited the state of Arizona heavily under Lanning, signing 4-star wide receiver Cooper Perry from Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep in the 2025 class, and 5-star EDGE Elijah Rushing from Tucson Salpointe Catholic, as well as 3-star quarterback Luke Moga from Phoenix Sunnyslope in the 2024 class.
The Ducks don’t have any cornerbacks committed in the 2026 class, but Hamiel could be one they add down the line.
He’s yet to set a commitment date and is one of a handful of cornerbacks the Oregon staff is recruiting heavily along with 5-star Brandon Arrington Jr., 4-star Davon Benjamin and Khary Adams.
