Vanderbilt quarterback Drew Dickey (7) runs in a touchdown against Georgia State during the fourth quarter at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025.

Disappointing 6-4 week last week that could have easily been 8-2. But that’s the nature of sports betting.  That makes us 27-15 through 4 weeks.  Below are my Top 10 picks listed in order of preference.  I don’t love the slate this week at all as I don’t think there are many lines that are mispriced.  So if you’re tailing these bets, I would probably reduce the amount bet by 50% and proceed with caution this week.

Please note that the lines below are from Wednesday and some of the lines may have moved since then, so please check the lines available to you with your preferred sportsbook.

1.  Vandy -2.5.   I can’t believe I’m betting Vandy as my top pick against a ranked team. But here we are.  LSU is 5-1 but their offensive efficiency metrics aren’t great.  Their defense has been carrying them.  I think Vandy will put up enough points at home to win this one.

2.  Indiana -27.5.   Michigan St is a mess and the Jonathan Smith is spiraling.  Indiana is the much better team and should win this one by 30+.   I typically avoid spreads this big as teams sometimes take their foot off the gas once they get up big and you can lose by the backdoor cover (see Oregon vs Northwestern, for example).  However Cignetti is not that way and has shown that he keeps his foot on the gas and likes to bury teams when given the opportunity.

3. Iowa -2.5

4. UCONN +1.5

5. UNLV @ Boise State over 61.5

6. USC +9.5.

7. Auburn +1.5

8.  USC @ ND over 60.5

9. Georgia Tech +1.5

10. Bama -8.5
