After a massive first week going 11-1, last week we were a somewhat disappointing 6-4.  While still profitable, I’m hoping to improve upon that this week.  Below are my Top 10 picks listed in order of preference.  I’ve included a short explanation for the top picks.

As always, remember that when participating in any form of gambling, it is crucial to understand that it is for entertainment purposes only and that you wager at your own risk.  Please note that the lines below are from Wednesday and some of the lines may have moved since then, so please check the lines available to you with your preferred sportsbook.

1. Troy -2.5.  The Trojans have played well thus far, even against higher level competition.  Now they are coming off their bye week to play their first conference game.  While South Alabama has played decently this season, they’ve lost 4 in a row and I like the Trojans, behind a stout defense, to extend that streak to 5.

2.  BYU -18.5 (Friday).  WVU is bad.  Like bad bad.  And they’ll be playing on the road in their second straight game without their starting QB Nicco Marchiol.  I don’t see any way WV can keep up with BYU and expect this one to turn into a blowout.

3 & 4.  Navy Team Total over 32.5 and -11.5.   Air Force has been hemorrhaging points this season, yielding 49, 49 and 44 in their last 3 games against mediocre competition.  Conversely Navy has scored 38+ points in 3 of their 4 games this season.  I expect the Midshipmen to score often and comfortably win this one against the Falcons.

5.  Michigan -16.5.  The Luke Fickell era has been an abject failure at Wisconsin.  At this point it is only a matter of when he will be fired.  Michigan has more talent across the board and I expect them to put it on the Badgers at home on Saturday coming off their bye week.

6.  Rice -4.5

7.  UCONN -6.5

8.  TCU -13.5

9.  Texas -6.5

10.  FSU +5.5
