Dan Lanning Offers Optimistic Injury Update on Dakorien Moore, Oregon Wide Receivers
There’s no position on Oregon’s roster that’s faced more injury attrition than wide receiver over the last month or so. The Ducks have been without freshman phenom Dakorien Moore, Gary Bryant Jr. and Evan Stewart.
Now fans are hoping that at least one of them will be able to give it a go on Saturday when the No. 5 Ducks host the No. 12 James Madison Dukes in Eugene.
Head coach Dan Lanning offered an encouraging update this week when he was asked about Moore and Bryant’s health during an appearance on the Zach Gelb Show.
“To be determined,” he said when asked about the duo’s health. “Those guys are making great progress. I feel like there’s gonna be an opportunity for us to see these guys again before the season’s done. But we’ll see how it all plays out.”
Ross Douglas and the Ducks have also been missing Stewart, an electric veteran playmaker who hasn’t suited up this season after tearing his patellar tendon in June.

“Yeah absolutely,” Lanning said when asked if a Stewart return was still on the table. “And again, part of it is us protecting these players from themselves and making sure when they’re ready they get that opportunity.
“So we’ll see how it all plays out. These guys are working extremely hard and hopeful that we can see ’em out there.”
Is the former 5-star close to maybe playing? Lanning kept it short and sweet.
“Yeah,” he said of Stewart.
As Oregon’s navigated those injuries, Lanning and the coaching staff have seen players like receivers Malik Benson and Jeremiah McClellan step into larger roles, along with tight ends Kenyon Sadiq and Jamari Johnson.
Laning and the Ducks haven’t played a game since their 26-14 win over the Washington Huskies in Seattle on November 29. Oregon is a 21.5-point favorite over James Madison in their first-round playoff game.
