Dan Lanning Tabs Drew Mehringer as Oregon Co-Offensive Coordinator, Ducks Announce Promotions

On Wednesday Dan Lanning announced that tight ends coach Drew Mehringer has been promoted to Co-Offensive Coordinator. Mehringer was one of a handful of promotions announced Wednesday ahead of the start of spring football in Eugene and the 2025 season.
In addition to Mehringer, Lanning promoted Rashad Wadood to cornerbacks coach, Kamran Araghi to Edges coach, and Koa Ka’ai to assistant quarterbacks coach.
Cutter Leftwich also returns to Eugene from North Texas as an assistant offensive line coach. Leftwich’s return coincides with Mike Cavanaugh being hired as Oregon State’s new offensive line coach.
Both Wadood and Araghi have been on Lanning’s staff in Eugene since the 2022 season and their promotions from graduate assistant positions come after they helped Oregon assemble one of the best defenses in college football for the 2024 season.

Ka’ai is a former Duck tight end (2011-2015) and has worked with Will Stein as an offensive analyst since Stein joined the Oregon staff from UTSA.
“We are excited about our coaching staff as we prepare for the spring and the 2025 season,” Lanning said in a press release. “Our staff does a tremendous job of prioritizing the student-athlete experience and making sure we are putting our players in a position to succeed, both on and off the field. I look forward to seeing guys like Drew, Rashad, Kamran and Koa thrive in expanded roles, and we are thrilled to welcome Cutter back to our program to assist with our offensive line.”
