Dante Moore Remains Undecided on NFL Draft, Oregon QB All-in on Playoff Run
Does he stay or does he go? That’s been the biggest question looming around the Oregon Football program two weeks into December as quarterback Dante Moore faces a decision: Declare for the 2026 NFL Draft or return to Eugene to operate the Oregon offense for one one more season?
As of Monday, the redshirt sophomore quarterback says no decision has been made.
“Of course, everybody keeps asking me questions, but there’s not a decision yet,” Moore told reporters in Eugene. “I don’t know. I’m just glad to be here and play JMU this upcoming week.”
Moore’s only spent one season as Oregon’s full-time starter since transferring from UCLA and sitting behind Dillon Gabriel for a year. But the body of work has been great.
Through 12 games as Oregon’s starter Moore has thrown for 2, 733 yards and 24 touchdowns against just six interceptions while completing 72.5% of his passes. He doesn’t have the requisite starting experience that many NFL front offices covet in their franchise quarterback. But the way he’s handled not only himself after the Indiana loss, but the Oregon offense as a whole has to be encouraging.
Throughout the month of November he made a number of big-time throws and kept the Ducks offense’ humming despite injuries to key offensive linemen and wide receivers.

As Oregon prepares for this week’s playoff game against James Madison, there’s been a lot on Moore’s plate. Through it all he’s just trying to stay present and focused on what lies ahead of him the rest of the way with the Ducks this year.
“It’s been interesting,” he said of processing the NFL Draft conversation surrounding him. “So many thoughts and so many things going on through my head and feel like just having Coach (Dan) Lanning and having a support team that helps me get through my everyday life and making sure that I stay focused on the main thing. And of course, my main thing right now is to be where my feet (are) at. Being here with my teammates.”
Heading into the playoff Moore is practically viewed as a consensus top-five draft pick, being viewed as highly as the No. 1 overall prospect by NFL Draft Analysts like Mel Kiper Jr. Moore didn’t give a timeline for a decision, but one should come over the next couple of weeks as teams look for clarity and begin building their rosters for the 2026 season.
The transfer portal opens on January 2, but Oregon has already been linked to top quarterbacks that intend to enter like Sam Leavitt and Dylan Raiola.
