The coaching change at Oregon has whittled what was once a 22-person class ranked in the top 10 to a seven-man class (signed) that’s no longer in the top 20. But there are four more pledges who didn’t pull the trigger during the early signing period

One of the four verbals hanging out there for 2022 is 4-star two-way lineman Dave Iuli of Puyallup (Wash.). The On3 Consensus ranks the 6-4, 330-pounder as the nation’s No. 22 interior offensive lineman.

After the spate of decommits, Iuli and Michael Wooten are the only offensive linemen still in the fold. Iuli updated ScoopDuck on what’s next.

“I am going to take visits to Miami, USC and Oregon,” he said.

What are his first thoughts on new coach Dan Lanning after speaking to him over the phone?

“He’s cool,” he said. “On the phone (he said he) wants me to come visit and get a vibe for the coaching.

“I like that coach’s friendship and the balance of a head coach being hard on me.”

What is the plan that Oregon has for Iuli?

“They want me to play offensive line,” he said, “but if they wanted me to play defensive line (I would consider it).

”I want to play offensive line at the next level.”

What does he hope to see or hear from the respective coaching staffs on his visits?

USC: “Overall, just bonds and just talk to the coaching staff and build that relationship again and see if I fit in at USC.”

Oregon: “Same thing with Oregon, and just see who they hire for offensive line and just talk to him and build that bond.

“And now, just talking to coach Lanning.”
