On Tuesday Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman met with media to talk about Oregon’s win and preview Penn State. There is no doubt there is a lot of attention on this game this week. Coming from Purdue, Thieneman talked about having the chance to play in a game of this magnitude.

Here are most of his comments with the video included.

On Excitement for this game:

“I mean, obviously, I’m very excited to play a game, very grateful to play a game every week.
I know it’s going to be on a big stage. We got a white we’ve got at night, and I’m just super excited to play there. I’m excited every week, so it doesn’t really change too much week to week.”

On Penn State:

“I’ve got to say that the offense is just very good at lining up in different looks and trying to confuse the defense, trying to get them talking, getting moving around. So they’ll do a lot of shifts and motions pre-snap, but then they’ll run the same plays that they want to run just at a different looks.”

On Prepping vs Kenyon Sadiq:

“It’s definitely very beneficial. I mean, I feel like iron sharpens iron. So me being able to go against him and some of the other guys we got on this team is just making me better, and I’m trying to make them better too.”

On Secondary Chemistry:

“I feel like it just starts with getting reps in practice and talking through certain concepts, certain formations, routes that we’re getting. So that we’re all on the same page. We need good pre-snap communication talking with them on and off the field. And I feel like just the more reps we get, the better we are.”

On Offensive Similarities vs Last Year:

“They’re definitely running similar stuff. They just got – I feel like they got a few different key guys that they like to highlight. Like the running backs are still there, so they’re going to highlight them getting the ball however they can. And then I know they got the transfer wide receivers, so they got a few guys with different specialties that they’ll try to get the ball in different areas.”
