Dillon Thieneman: "Oregon is really good at taking in transfers and developing them to the next level."

A number of new faces will be featured on this Oregon team this season. Some will be newcomers via recruiting and some from the transfer portal. Oregon scored big with the latter with new safety Dillon Thieneman coming over from Purdue. Easily one of Lanning’s biggest recruiting wins at Oregon.
Thieneman has been talked about by Oregon coaches and players as a tireless worker on and off the field. His commitment to his craft has been described by man in great detail.
For the first time we heard from Thieneman on how he is adjusting to Oregon and the new defense he’s learning. He also talked about the tough decision to leave Purdue for Oregon. You can read some of his top comments below or watch the whole video at the bottom.

On Work Ethic:
“I think it’s established in my family. Seeing how my brothers did things, my parents did things. Also I have a goal in mind, I want to do everything I can in the moment to reach my goals.”

On Choosing Oregon:
“It was definitely a very difficult decision. It was going to be in my interest to leave and get proper coaching and development. Better competition. Found coach Lanning, how they develop guys and this staff, what their system is, how it relates to NFL and I just settled on this place. Oregon is really good at taking in transfers and developing them to the next level.”
On Learning Defense:
“Still just trying to adapt to the defense. It’s a lot different than the last place I was at. It’s almost like a whole new position. I’m still just trying to get better.”
