First Round: Oregon DL Derrick Harmon Taken in First Round of NFL Draft
Thursday night the NFL draft kicked off with the first round selections. Oregon has now had a player drafted in the first round of the draft for 6 consecutive years.
While they didn’t have a top ten or early round selection, Oregon did see one of its defensive linemen taken late (r) in the first round.
After transferring in from Michigan State, defensive tackle Derrick Harmon saw his NFL draft stock soar this season. Late in the season he moved up a lot of draft boards and was consistently mocked in the first round.

Well on Thursday night he was taken at pick No. 21 by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Last season Harmon recorded 27 solo tackles, 5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles for Oregon. The 6-foot-5, 310-pounder was a bully in the middle of Oregon’s defense.
Oregon is looking to see a record-breaking number of players drafted into the NFL through the weekend. Stick to ScoopDuck to keep track of the latest moves as the draft runs Thursday through Saturday.
