GAME RECAP : Ducks Obliterate Oklahoma State 69-3

From the very first drive, there was no doubt about the outcome inside Autzen Stadium on Saturday — utter domination. By halftime, the game was already out of reach, thanks to the Ducks’ explosive plays in the first half in Eugene.
On just the second play of the game, Noah Whittington set the tone for an explosive first half by breaking free for a 59-yard touchdown run to open the scoring. Whittington only carried the ball four times, but racked up 91 yards — an eye-popping average of 22.8 yards per carry.
Oregon kept the momentum rolling with a 65-yard touchdown strike from Dante Moore to Dakorien Moore, followed by a 19-yard touchdown run from Dierre Hill Jr. — the first of his young career — set up by a 53-yard burst from Jayden Limar.
The Ducks’ fireworks continued into the second quarter. Moore connected with Malik Benson on a picture-perfect 42-yard touchdown pass, and Dakorien Moore added his second score of the game, this time on the ground with a 25-yard touchdown run.
Just like last week, Oregon’s offensive balance was on full display during Saturday’s dominant performance. The Ducks racked up 312 rushing yards and 219 passing yards, showcasing their versatility. Quarterback Dante Moore delivered another stellar outing, completing 16-of-21 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns. What stood out most, however, was his ability to spread the ball around — 10 different Duck receivers caught a pass while Moore was in the game, with no player recording more than three receptions.

While the offense rightfully stole the spotlight, Oregon’s defense delivered a dominant performance of its own against a tougher test in the Big 12’s Cowboys. The Ducks held Oklahoma State to just 134 total yards, completely stifling quarterback Zane Flores, who completed only 7-of-19 passes for 67 yards and threw two interceptions — both were returned for touchdowns in the third quarter by linebacker Jerry Mixon and safety Peyton Woodyard.
Bryce Boettcher led the defensive effort with nine tackles, while Teitum Tuoiti turned in another strong performance, recording a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss for the second straight week.
Coming into this game, there was already a sense that Dan Lanning and the Ducks had a chance to make a statement — especially after some of the comments made earlier in the week by Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy. But a 69–3 blowout, where Oregon out gained Oklahoma State 631 to 211, wasn’t just a statement — it was a statement on top of a statement.
Lesson of the day? Don’t poke the bear.
