Jhop's Take: Five Oregon Players I'm Anxious to Watch

Welcome to what should be my final story ahead of today’s opening game. Hopefully many of you are at a tailgate, at a bar, BBQ’n in the backyard, near a cold one, just enjoying this peach of a Saturday.
Soon we’ll get our first look at Oregon. Practices have been closed and news has been hard to come by. Which really only adds to the excitement and anticipation for fans.
We know this is a new (er) Oregon team with a ton of new pieces. Many of which we are excited to see for the first time. I do expect we’ll see a number of players in and out of the game.
This isn’t a list of top five players. You won’t read Kenyon Sadiq’s name on here. He’s a known commodity. Shoot I’m not even going to list Dakorien Moore because I feel like we know. These are the five players that I’m really anxious to check out and see how they fit in with this team and the rotation.
LT Isaiah World
When we scale it back, there really isn’t a more important player this team added than World. And he comes in with tons of upside but some areas he needs to improve. How much did he improve this Spring and Fall? That is the question because when Oregon faces a Penn State or Iowa, they need their left tackle ready to protect their quarterback. I look forward to seeing his progress so far today.

WR Gary Bryant Jr.
It’s been a long road back for GBJ and I think he might be more important than most fans are considering. The wide receiver room is in flux. They need at least two guys to play consistent winning football. If Moore and GBJ can be counted on, I feel good Oregon will find a third from the pack along the way. So let me see the return of GBJ to put my mind at ease.
DB Na’eem Offord
This kid has had a ton of buzz in camp. And he’s quite unique in the way that you can move him around at multiple positions. Even if he doesn’t start, I think we’ll see plenty of him. And I’m excited to watch him. This one has a chance to be yet another defensive X-Factor for Oregon, something we’ve seen Lanning adopt.
DB Brandon Finney
I hate to list two DB’s, but let’s be real, this is a position group we all have our eyes on. Like Offord, Finney is another guy that has a ton of buzz coming out of Fall camp. Again, even if he doesn’t start, I think we’ll see plenty of Finney. And again, he can play corner or STAR, so lot’s of versatility with him too.
*Late Note, Theran Johnson is unavailable which could open the door for Finney to start*
DL Bear Alexander
I really want to see if its clicked for Bear. I’ve heard mixed reports about his Fall camp. So I think there is a really strong player there but maybe that means consistency is going to be his key moving forward. If it clicks, this is a game-changer on the defensive line for Oregon. He’s got NFL traits. But until he consistently plays at that level, it remains potential. Can he unlock it this season at Oregon?
