Good afternoon Duck fans. Another week and another win for the Ducks keeps them in my top ten. Just to be clear, my top ten is based on the body of work we’ve seen this season alone, combined with overall talent on the roster and updated weekly based on performances and quality of wins.

Your major polls typically just move up and down based off preseason rankings and wins or losses. I try to be subjective including injuries, performance and other metrics that matter.

Here was last week’s top ten for review and let’s get into this weeks.

  1. Georgia – The first swap on the board. Georgia was two last week but based on their win and FSU’s much closer win over Boston College, I have to give them the nod. Georgia has UAB this week and they will steamroll them and likely stay on top.
  2. Florida State – Like I said above, given they beat BC by only 2 points I felt it fair to move Georgia up. But again, FSU has one of the easiest schedules in the country, as does Georgia. It’s going to be tough to unseat either of these two unless they slip up. A big win over Clemson this week could swap the two again.
  3. Michigan – I’ll keep saying it, I don’t love Michigan. But they won as they should and I doubt Rutgers puts up much of a fight. For now it’s hard not to give the Wolverines this spot.
  4. Penn State – I can’t move them down, as much as I want to. The good news is they will help decide their own fate this week with a big (ger) game with Iowa on tap. Ohio State next.
  5. USC – They were on a bye so no real reason to move them up or down. Next is a feast on poor ol’ Dilly and ASU for the Trojans.
  6. Notre Dame – The Irish win big and like I said last week, we’ll know more about them this week. The Irish and Buckeyes are set to tangle and my bet is Notre Dame wins without much trouble.
  7. Oregon – No movement for beating up on a bad Hawaii team. Beat Colorado this week and if anyone ahead struggles, Oregon could move up.
  8. Washington – The Huskies beat a big time team on name alone. Michigan State. They are a mess and they weren’t all that good before the distractions. They feast on Cal this week.
  9. Texas – I would love to swap Michigan or Penn State here for Texas. But my feeling is that will happen in the coming weeks as games play on. Can Baylor give them a test this week?
  10. Ohio State – The Buckeyes erupted last weekend for a 63-point outburst. But as I’ve said already, they run into Notre Dame this week, Penn State next. I don’t think they are long to remain in the top ten. Utah is watching you tOSU.
