No. 1 Linebacker Tyler Atkinson Releases Final Four Schools

Oregon has been taking some big swings at linebacker in the 2026 cycle and on Wednesday, one of their top targets in 5-star Lawrenceville (GA) Grayson linebacker Tyler Atkinson trimmed his list of suitors.
Atkinson is down to a final four of Clemson, Georgia, Oregon, Texas, according to On3 | Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. He has not set a commitment date, but Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong has reported that a decision is likely coming in July.
Atkinson is listed at 6’2″, 205 pounds and is ranked the No. 8 prospect nationally, the No. 1 linebacker and the No. 1 prospect in Georgia according to the Rivals Industry ranking.
The coveted Peach State product took official visits to each of his finalists throughout the month of June, with Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns getting the last visit.
The 5-star tripped out to Eugene in early June and the Oregon staff put their best foot forward and showed him he’s a top priority.

“We had a lot of great experiences that were non-football,” Atkinson told Rivals’ Chad Simmons. “Coach Tosh showed me some new fishing tips. Coach Lanning helped get my golf swing right, and Coach B-Mike always fed my football appetite. They did everything they could to show me how much I belonged, and I felt it.
…The staff was very creative to show me that I was a huge priority for the program and the school.”
Oregon has one linebacker committed in the 2026 class in 4-star Ventura (Calif.) standout Tristan Phillips, who’s been committed to the Ducks since December. Brian Michalowksi would love to find one more ‘backer to pair with Phillips this cycle and Atkinson has been at the top of his big board.
4-star Owings Mills (MD) McDonough linebacker Nick Abrams II is another blue-chipper the Ducks have been involved with ahead of his July 16 commitment. They’re battling Alabama, Georgia and Michigan for his pledge.
