Oregon defensive back Solomon Davis intends to enter the transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reported on Tuesday afternoon.

The 6-foot, 197-pound redshirt sophomore is in his third college season after signing with the Ducks as a 3-star recruit from Covina (Calif.) Charter Oaks High School in the 2023 class. Davis was a former Arizona commit that went on to flip to Oregon after being recruited by former cornerbacks coach Demetrice Martin, who’s now on staff at UCLA.

During his three seasons in Eugene he primarily saw playing time on special teams. In 2025 he played in all 12 of Oregon’s regular season games. Davis appeared in 13 of Oregon’s 14 games in 2024, logging 65 snaps on special teams and one snap on defense.

He’s the third Oregon player from the 2025 roster to announce their intentions to enter the transfer portal as the offseason looms, along with cornerbacks Jahlil Florence and Dakoda Fields.

Davis was one of seven defensive backs the Ducks signed in the 2023 class. That would single out Daylen Austin as the only defensive back from the cycle still on the current roster.

The others are Rodrick Pleasant (UCLA), Cole Martin (UCLA), Collin Gill (Charlotte), Tyler Turner (Baylor) and Kodi DeCambra (UNLV).

The transfer portal window opens on January 2 and will remain open through January 16. However players on playoff teams get a five-day extension after their final game.

A separate 15-day window is available for players that are affected by coaching changes, starting five days after the new coach is hired.
