Oregon Ducks tight end Spencer Webb dies at age of 22

Oregon Ducks tight end Spencer Webb died at 22 years old after suffering a fatal head injury near Triangle Lake on Wednesday.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office responded to the rock slides at Triangle Lake, just west of Eugene, at approximately 2:30 p.m, after receiving the report of an injured person. Upon arrival, deputies learned that a 22 year old male now confirmed to be Webb fell and struck his head.
He was unable to be revived by bystanders and responding paramedics. LCSO has ruled the death to be accidental and said there is no evidence of foul play.
Wednesday evening, many of Webb’s teammates and coaches mourned his passing on social media.
“So full of life in every moment of the day,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning Tweeted. “Your smile and energy will be missed Spencer. I love you!”

Webb, a Sacramento, Calif., native who starred at Christian Brothers High School, was entering his fifth season at Oregon. In 29 career games with the Ducks, Webb caught 31 passes for 296 yards and four touchdowns.
He shined as a redshirt freshman in 2019 and caught 18 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns in 12 games.
