Dan Lanning April 15: "Some good, some bad."

On Tuesday Dan Lanning was back on the practice field for Spring football. Of course the practice was closed to all media but he met with them to talk about his team and some individual updates.
Running backs seemed to be the hot topic of the day for media with questions about Makhi Hughes, Dink Riggs and Jay Harris among others. Lanning talked about that and some thoughts from Oregon’s first scrimmage on Saturday.
Here are his top responses and the full video included at the bottom.

Intro:
“Good work day, got some good situational football. Good day overall.”
On QB Play in Scrimmage:
“Some good, some bad. But overall we created more shots than we have this Spring. Decent operation, I still think it can be better.
On Makhi Hughes:
“Physicality, he’s still learning the system. He’s big back that runs tough.”
On Da’Jaun Riggs:
“Dink has done a great job. It’s the difference in knowing the system and not knowing it. He’s elusive ,can get vertical fast. Plays the game the right way.”

On Spring Improvements:
“Leadership is one of the biggest pieces. I’m starting to see that. All that’s showing up so far for us this Spring.”
On House Roster Changes:
“Adapt. Gotta be ready to adapt. I like our roster, I like who we have on our team right now. But we don’t control all that.”
