Oregon Leaps Alabama in Updated Recruiting Rankings

While you are still dancing, or slapping hands or taking celebratory shots at 11 AM (Pacific), Oregon is leap-frogging Alabama in the latest recruiting rankings.
Oregon had the No. 7 class in the nation to start the day. But with the addition of five-star EDGE Anthony ‘Tank’ Jones, Oregon swapped spots with Alabama to end up at No. 6.
The Ducks have one of the most impressive classes in the country with only 16 verbal commitments. This list is built on quality not quantity. Oregon’s average commit rating sits at an astonishing 92.47. The class is made up of 87% blue chip recruits.
Although Jones is a five-star, he’s Oregon’s lowest rated five-star of the four committed. Oregon is led by offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, followed by safety Jett Washington and tight end Kendre Harrison.

Now Oregon fans wait for the upcoming decisions from four-star cornerback Davon Benjamin and four-star defensive tackle Deuce Geralds this Saturday. Both are strongly considering Oregon and could be considered leans to the Ducks at the moment.
A commitment from both of those four-stars should be enough to push Oregon into the top five of the recruiting rankings nationally.
Oregon and Bama lead the way in the top ten with four five-star commits each.
Will Oregon end up with the No. 1 ranked class in the country and barely 20 commits? We’ll continue to track that into the Fall as the Ducks target a few strategic flips in this cycle.
