ESPN’s College GameDay is making its way back to Eugene for the second time this season as No. 7 Oregon takes on No. 15 USC. And now we have our guest picker. On Thursday, Legendary Oregon Duck and current Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota was selected as College Gameday’s guest picker.

This will be the third time this season that Oregon will be featured on ESPN’s flagship college football show.

Mariota spent three seasons at Oregon, where he became the school’s first Heisman Trophy winner in 2014. While in Eugene the Ducks won the Pac-12 title his junior year (2014) and the Rose Bowl en route to an appearance in the national championship.

The Hawaii native threw for 10,796 yards, 105 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while completing 66.75% of his passes in 41 career games. A true dual-threat quarterback, Mariota also tacked on 2,237 yards and 29 touchdowns on 337 carries (6.7 YPC). Mariota was selected by the Tennesse Titans with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Mariota is one of three former Oregon quarterbacks now in the NFL(Justin Herbert, Bo Nix) that is on a bye week this weekend, which could lead to more Duck Football royalty making the trip to Eugene for Saturday’s 12:30 PM PT kickoff.

The winningest quarterback in program history, Mariota is one of multiple former Ducks including center Hroniss Grasu that will be inducted into the University of Oregon Athletics Hall of Fame this weekend during the game against the Trojans.
