Oregon linebacker Dru Mathis leaves Ducks' season-opener with injury

Oregon had already been hit with a bit of bad injury luck.
In the first quarter of the Ducks’ season-opener with Fresno State at Autzen Stadium, senior linebacker Dru Mathis suffered an apparent knee injury and left the game.
Mathis initially went to the sideline medical tent while trainers assessed the injury.
He emerged about 10 minutes later with his shoulder pads off, and trainers continued to tend to him on the sideline. Mathis left the field on crutches, with an ice pack on his left knee. When he reached the tunnel, he was carried off on a cart and back to Oregon’s locker room.
His injury occurred just a couple of plays after Kayvon Thibodeaux left the game with an apparent ankle injury.

Thibodeaux was sidelined for a few drives while trainers taped his ankle and foot. But he eventually returned to the field and appears to be full-go.
Update: 1:06 p.m. PST
Mathis returned to the Oregon sideline in the second half wearing street clothes and had a brace on his left knee.
