The Oregon Ducks delivered one of their worst shooting performance of the Dana Altman era en route to a loss in their first game of conference play.

Oregon (5-4, 0-1 Pac-12) fell to Arizona State (3-6, 1-3) in overtime by a score of 69-67 at Matthew Knight Arena.

DJ Horne hit a game-tying 3-pointer late in the second half to send it to overtime, and Jay Heath buried a three with 15 seconds left in overtime to give the game its final score.

“I was really disappointed in the way those two guys got their looks,” Oregon coach Dana Altman said of Horne and Heath. “We knew they were the only two guys that were capable of beating us from three — Heath goes 4-for-6, and Heath goes 3-for-9.

“I thought we gave those guys way too many looks.”

The Ducks shot 41 percent from the field and 18 percent from three-point range.

Franck Kepnang led the Ducks with 17 points, and Rivaldo Soares added 11 points.

Oregon’s starting guards, Will Richardson and De’Vion Harmon, shot a combined 5-for-26 from the field and 2-of-14 from three.

The Ducks were without forward Eric Williams Jr. and Lök Wur, who were both injured.

Altman wasn’t able to provide much clarity afterward on when each player will return.

“Lok is nursing an ankle and Eric’s got a lower leg that he aggravated. So I don’t know — I don’t know how long either one will be out.”

Oregon will look to bounce back next Sunday when they travel to face Stanford (4-3, 0-1) in Palo Alto.
