Five Teams Land Elite Recruiting and Transfer Portal Classes

For the most part we are done with the transfer portal and the recruiting window for 2025 has closed. There will be another Spring window which could make things interesting and I do think Oregon might make a few moves there. But that’s for another time.
In college football one thing remains the key to success for any program. It’s the talent you can put on the field. It doesn’t matter if you recruited them out of high school or they landed on your roster via transfer last Spring. As long as they are ready and able, you can compete.
Under Dan Lanning Oregon has used both resources to build his roster. Lanning relied heavily on the portal the first two years and has used it less and less the last two seasons. It’s still a very important part of what Oregon does, but they’ve swapped out quantity for quality.
Recruiting at the prep level has continued to rise at Oregon under Lanning. Every year the Ducks inch closer and closer to a number one ranked recruiting class.

This year, Oregon is one of five programs that landed top ten classes in both the transfer portal and recruiting. Oregon landed the best of each of these classes of the five, both ranked at No. 4 by On3.
LSU, Michigan, Auburn and Texas A&M are the other four programs to finish in the top ten of both classes.
