Every year, there are things that show you just how close the Oregon Football season is. Monday was one of those days, as the Athletic’s Bruce Feldman released his annual “Freaks List,” highlighting the “strongest, fastest and most physical players in college football.”

Last year Oregon had one player crack the list at No. 10: defensive end Jordan Burch, who was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round.

In 2025, the Ducks had two players featured in the top-100 junior defensive tackle A’Mauri Washington and junior tight end Kenyon Sadiq.

Feldman: “The 6-3, 338-pound Washington is of the caliber of elite D-linemen head coach Dan Lanning saw while in the SEC. His numbers made me do a triple-take when the staff sent them over. To be that massive and clock 20.89 mph and vertical jump 36 inches is mind-blowing. Washington squatted 755 pounds, bench pressed 475 and power cleaned 385. He’s coming off a season in which he had 10 tackles and 1.5 TFLs, but he figures to make a much bigger impact now that defensive tackles Derrick Harmon and Jamaree Caldwell are in the NFL.

“He’s always been extremely explosive, and his conditioning has gotten better and better each year,” Lanning said. “He’s always had an elite get-off and can get knocked back on the line of scrimmage, but his technique has really come along to match it now.”

Torres’ Take: Oregon’s defensive line doesn’t showcase a ton of returning experience this season, but Washington is most notable returner aside from Matayo Uiagalelei. There was already buzz that he was among the most athletic in Tony Tuioti‘s room and landing on the Freaks List serves as further confirmation of that. Washington will likely be featured alongside players like Bear Alexander, Tionne Gray and Aydin Breland on the interior.

No. 11 TE Kenyon Sadiq

Feldman: “A junior from Idaho, Sadiq is a matchup nightmare for defenses. Last year, he took a big step forward, catching 24 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns; both TDs were in the Big Ten title game. The 6-3 Sadiq came to Oregon two years ago at 220 pounds but is now 255. He’s much leaner this season thanks to healthier eating, which he said has enabled him to go from 12-13 percent body fat to about 10. He vertical jumped 41.5 inches this summer, power cleaned 365 pounds and bench pressed 435.

“He does stuff that amazes you every single day,” said Lanning. “But as a coach, one of the things that excites you the most is that he really challenged himself to block better this past year, and he was really good at it.”

Torres’ Take: There are a lot of players we’re excited to see on Oregon’s offense this season. Quarterback Dante Moore, true freshman wide receiver Dakorien Moore and running back Makhi Hughes are a few that come to mind. But coming out of Big Ten Media Days and Oregon Football Media Day, I think the hype around Sadiq is the strongest it’s ever been. He’ll be Oregon’s tight end one this year and should get tons of touches following the departures of Terrance Ferguson and Patrick Herbert. Expect Will Stein to get creative with one of his top offensive weapons this season.
