PODCAST: Analyzing Oregon's First Big Official Visit Weekend

Oregon Football is looking for some momentum on the recruiting trail. Head coach Dan Lanning and his staff hosted their first big official visit weekend of the summer this past weekend and a ton of high-end prospects were in Eugene.
Top targets like 5-star EDGE Richard Wesley, 5-star Lawrenceville (GA) linebacker Tyler Atkinson, 5-star Spring Valley (Calif.) Mount Miguel cornerback Brandon Arrington Jr. and 5-star Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman safety Jett Washington headlined the group of visitors.
ScoopDuck’s Max Torres dives into his analysis and intel from the weekend as Oregon works on adding to the nation’s No. 11 recruiting class for 2026.
Wesley returned to campus for the first time since backing off his commitment last month. He was joined by his family as Oregon works to hopefully get him back in their 2026 recruiting class. He plans to take more trips to Texas, Texas A&M and Ohio State.
Atkinson is the No. 1 linebacker in the country and Oregon rolled out the red carpet on his trip, even sprinkling in small elements of his personal brand ‘Atkinup’ throughout the visit. Oregon is battling Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State and Auburn for his commitment.

Arrington and Washington are two of Oregon’s top targets in the secondary and the staff made sure they left Eugene feeling like priorities in this class.
The Oregon coaches also had a pair of commits in town to help recruit prospects to join the fold. 4-star Ventura (Calif.) linebacker Tristan Phillips and 4-star Melbourne (Fla.)Eau Gallie safety Xavier Lherisse were both on their Oregon official visits as well.
