PODCAST: Oregon Lands Red-Hot QB Bryson Beaver, What it Means and What's Next

Oregon continued to pick up momentum on the recruiting trail in the 2026 class on Wednesday with the commitment of 4-star Vista Murrieta (Calif.) quarterback Bryson Beaver. Beaver chose the Ducks over the likes of Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn and others.
After missing out on other quarterbacks like Jonas Williams, Jared Curtis and Ryder Lyons, Will Stein and the Ducks secured a pledge from the fastest rising quarterback recruit in the nation. Beaver earned high praise at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles last week, an event that brings 20 of the nation’s top quarterback talents together to compete in one spot.
Beaver took his official visit to Oregon over the weekend and that was enough to seal the deal. He also took visits to Ole Miss and Alabama prior to traveling North to Eugene. The LSU Tigers were making a big push to get him on campus for a visit, but Beaver was ready to pull the trigger and hop in the fold with the Ducks.
The newest commitment helps Oregon continue to expand their recruiting presence in the talent-rich recruiting hotbed that is Southern California. Beaver is the second quarterback from the region to take his talents to Eugene in the last two recruiting cycles, as San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln quarterback Akili Smith Jr. pledged to the Ducks in the 2025 class.
