PODCAST: Previewing and Predicting Oregon vs. Penn State With Greg Pickel

Week 5’s game of the week is nearly here as the No. 6 Oregon Ducks (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) travel to State College for a primetime showdown against the No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions (3-0, 0-0) Big Ten.
The game will kick off at 4:30 PM PT/7:30 PM ET and be broadcast on NBC/Peacock. Penn State is a 3.5-point favorite according to odds from BetMGM.
The Ducks head into Saturday’s contest having rattled off four straight wins against Montana State, Oklahoma State, Northwestern and Oregon State to begin the 2025 campaign. Penn State also arrives with an unblemished 3-0 record having defeated Nevada, FIU and most recently Villanova before having a bye in Week 4.
Oregon came away with a statement victory the last time they faced the Nittany Lions, winning the 2024 Big Ten championship game 45-37 in Lucas Oil Stadium last December. Oregon’s playmakers like Kenyon Sadiq and Tez Johnson shined while the Nittany Lions rumbled ahead 297 rushing yards to keep the game interesting.

This year’s rematch of the Big Ten title game features two high-profile quarterbacks in Oregon’s Dante Moore and Penn State’s Drew Allar. Moore (962 yards, 11 TD, 1 INT, 74.7% completion) has gotten off to a blazing start with Oregon, while Allar (626 yards, 4 TDs, 1 INT, 64.8% completion) has been solid but perhaps underwhelming in the eyes of Penn State fans through three games this year.
