Dan Lanning and staff got to work early on Father’s day. The Ducks landed a commitment from Grant Union (Calif.) safety Kingston Lopa during an official visit.

Here is what Lopa told ScoopDuck about his decision to commit to Oregon.

“I love it here,” Lopa said. “Everything is all family here and that’s a big part of me , family and the connections you get here. I’m coming to win.”

We will follow up with Lopa for more on his decision after the conclusion of his visit.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder is the nation’s No. 312 ranked player nationally in the On3 Industry Rankings. Lopa is the No. 12 ranked athlete.

The four-star held offers from most of the Pac-12 conference and LSU and Auburn among others.

Oregon now has two safety commits joining Aaron Flowers in the class.

The Ducks are now up to 17 total commits in the 2024 class and the No. 9 ranked class nationally.
