It will come as little, to no surprise to ScoopDuck readers. But Saturday morning On3’s Pete Nakos and other national media reported they expect Dante Moore to be Oregon’s starting quarterback today vs Montana State.

We’ve been steady reporting that expected outcome as Fall has progressed.

Oregon will attempt to get Austin Novosad into the game if the score allows vs Montana State. He is expected to be QB2 behind Dante Moore.

This will be Moore’s first start at Oregon. The former UCLA transfer started as a true freshman for Chip Kelly and the Bruins. Back in 2023 he completed 114 passes on 213 attempts for 1,610 yards. He threw 11 touchdowns against 9 interceptions that year.

Last season at Oregon, Moore saw limited snaps. He was 7 of 8 for 49 yards last season.

Oregon has been incredibly fortunate with elite quarterback play the last three seasons. The Ducks struck gold giving Bo Nix a change of scenery for two years before he was drafted by the Denver Broncos. Last season Oklahoma transfer Dillon Gabriel led Oregon to an undefeated regular season as the starter.
