Alright we are off and running with the roundtables this week. It’s a new week, a new opponent and more to talk about.

The Ducks will look to rebound against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights this Saturday. It will be an early evening game, nearly ideal for the Ducks traveling back East.

Here is roundtable No. 1 talking about surprise storylines.

Brandon Gibson:

Jordon Davison stakes his claim as top back. Davison was one of the few bright spots for Oregon against Indiana and will be given a chance to increase his role as he looks to become the next great featured back at Oregon. The combination of Dierre Hill Jr and Davison will be electric for the next few years and Davison has the size and ability to continue to increase his workload. I think Davison gets 10 or more carries against Rutgers and sets a new career rushing record.

Corpatty:

Oregon should have a relatively easy time with an overmatched Rutgers team.  However I think the Indiana game took a lot out of them.  Couple that with traveling cross country and I think Oregon comes out sluggish and struggles in the first half.

Max Torres:

Oregon has a 100-yard rusher. The Ducks haven’t had a 100-yard rusher all year. Noah Whittington (91) got close against Oklahoma State and Dierre Hill Jr. (94) almost had it against Northwestern. What’s odd is that those performances came on five and four carries respectively. I think we’ll see the rotation shrink a bit this week, or the Ducks at least keep the hot hand on the field.

Ted Leroux:

For a stretch of Saturday’s game against Indiana, Jordon Davison was clearly the hot hand in Oregon’s rushing attack. Davison carried the ball eight times for 59 yards, averaging an impressive 7.4 yards per carry. I expect he’ll make it two straight weeks as the Ducks’ featured back. Rutgers ranks near the bottom of the Big Ten in rushing defense, allowing the fifth-most yards on the ground, and there should be plenty of opportunities to exploit the middle of the field.

Jhop:

I like all of the rushing predictions. Those are probably not wrong. So to add a variable I’ll add this. Oregon gets Kenyon Sadiq more involved. He has not had enough touches this season and I think it’s time Oregon looks to get him consistently into the gameplan. FEED SADIQ. (And a RB)

FWIW, the Rutgers secondary is suspect and prone to giving up big plays.
