It’s a new week and a new opponent. And now we have a (re) new (ed) outlook on Oregon’s next opponent. After a huge win over Rutgers, confidence is sky-high on the Oregon side.

The Badgers meanwhile head to Eugene a heavy underdog. Luke Fickell has taken criticism for this season and his tenure as head coach. A win in Eugene might just save his job. A loss, well, who knows.

Regardless, here are our surprise storyline predictions for this week.

One could argue, everyone hit last week other than our good friend, Corpatty.

Max Torres: Oregon forces three turnovers

Maybe it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise after what we saw last week, but I continue to be encouraged by the disruption we’ve seen from Oregon’s defense. The sack numbers may not be crazy, but they’re still creating havoc and forcing quarterbacks and skill players to make mistakes. I doubt Wisconsin makes the mistake of throwing at Brandon Finney Jr., but you never know. He’ll be ready. This is a big opportunity for other defensive backs to step up like Aaron Flowers did last week.

Corpatty: Oregon gets first shutout in over a year

The Wisconsin offense is really struggling, having been shutout in two consecutive games vs Iowa and Ohio State.  Oregon will extend that scoreless streak to three games, notching their first shutout since at Purdue last season.

Ted Leroux: Wisconsin Holds Oregon Under 100 Rush Yards

As far as Oregon’s success goes, not much would surprise me on Saturday. The Ducks are one of the Big Ten’s most talented teams, while Wisconsin is playing some of the worst football in the Power Four right now. That said, the one bright spot for the Badgers has been their run defense. Wisconsin is allowing fewer than 100 rushing yards per game and even held Ohio State under the century mark. My surprise storyline? The Badgers’ defense keeps that trend going and holds Oregon under 100 yards on the ground. As for the passing game—that’s a completely different story.

Jhop: Matayo Uiagelelei Registers 3 Sacks

We’ve all been waiting for the ‘Matayo Game.’ And so far it hasn’t really surfaced this season. As you’ll recall, Uiagelelei was a hero in Madison last year securing the game-winning interception Oregon needed to escape an upset. This year he hasn’t had that breakout game just yet so I’m predicting a rematch with the Badgers does the track.
